Dr. Michael Cohn joined Berkshire Surgical Associates in 1979 after serving as Chief Resident of Surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.  He is currently Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.  Dr. Cohn has expertise in vascular surgery, renal dialysis access surgery, gastrointestinal and breast surgery. 

Dr. Cohn, who has three grown children, lives in Pittsfield with his wife Roberta.  A passionate fisherman, Dr. Cohn enjoys fly-fishing vacations in Western Canada and the US with his family.  He is also fond of golf and traveling overseas.

Dr. Jose M. Heisecke came to Berkshire Medical Center in 2002 as a Surgical Resident after completing his Family Practice residency at the Mcallen Family Practice Residency Program at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

He served as Chief Surgical Resident from 2007 to 2008 at Berkshire Medical Center. Dr. Heisecke joined Berkshire Surgical Associates in August of 2008.


Dr. Heisecke has expertise in vascular surgery, gastrointestinal and breast surgery, and also performs colonoscopy services.


Dr. Heisecke lives in Pittsfield with his wife Christina and his 5 children.  He even spent a few years playing professional soccer in Paraguay where he was raised.


Dr. Heisecke is board certified in Family Medicine and was fellowship trained in Cardiovascular Surgery from Hospital Privado Frances in Paraguay.

Dr Eugen L Curletti

Dr. Eugene Curletti joined Berkshire Surgical Associates in 1980 after completing his surgical residency at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC. He received his medical training at the University of Vermont Medical College in Burlington and did his undergraduate studies at Tufts University, Medford, MA. He has been an Assistant Professor of Surgery, University of Massachusetts Medical School since 1981.

Dr. Curletti lives in Pittsfield, MA, with his wife Dolly, who is marketing director for Kimball Farms, a retirement community in Lenox, MA. Their five children are grown and the Curlettiā€™s have three grandchildren and are expecting a fourth. Dr. Curletti likes the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing in the Western US. He also enjoys playing golf and traveling overseas.


Dr. Christian Galvez-Padilla most recently served as Director of Cardiovascular Medicine, Outpatient Clinic, and as a cardiovascular surgeon at UNICAR, the Guatemalan Institute of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. He received his medical degree from Francisco Marroquin University Medical School in Guatemala City and completed his residency in general surgery at Berkshire Medical Center and a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Allegheny General Hospita
